Log Out of Facebook on All Devices Remotely
Lost your phone or suspect someone got in? One official button signs out every device at once — no password change, no waiting. Here's exactly where it lives and what to do right after.
Jump to the 3-step logoutOfficial surfaces only
Every step happens inside Facebook's own Security settings — nothing third-party required.
No password, ever
We never ask for or handle your Facebook password or login codes.
Owner-only action
This ends sessions only on the account you are currently signed in to — your own.
Menu names can vary slightly by app version; look for 'Where you're logged in' under Password and security.
Force logout everywhere in 3 steps
1
Open Security settings
On facebook.com or the app, go to Settings & privacy → Password and security → Where you're logged in.
2
Find 'Log out of all sessions'
Scroll past the device list to the bottom option that ends every session at once.
3
Confirm and re-secure
Tap it, confirm, then change your password and turn on two-factor authentication.
You'll need to be signed in to your own account on any one device to reach this button.
Right now — unsure who's still signed in
- A lost or stolen phone may still hold an active session.
- An unfamiliar login is listed and you don't recognize the device.
- You can't tell whether someone else is reading messages as you.
After 'Log out of all sessions'
- Every session is ended, including the current one, so any intruder is signed out.
- A fresh password plus 2FA means old sessions can't simply log back in.
- Login alerts warn you the next time a new device signs in.
Logging out ends sessions but does not change your password — that's why the two follow-up steps matter.
- An active session stays valid until it's ended — logging out now closes that window immediately.
- A device you no longer control keeps its access until you force logout everywhere.
- Doing password + 2FA in the same sitting stops a signed-out session from returning.
There's no countdown and nothing to lose — the button is free, official, and reversible by simply logging back in on your own device.
FAQ
Does logging out of all devices change my password?
No. 'Log out of all sessions' only ends active sessions — it does not change your password. That's why the recommended follow-up is to change your password and enable two-factor authentication right after, so a signed-out device can't just log back in.
Will this sign me out too?
Yes. The all-sessions logout ends every session, including the one you're using. You'll simply log back in on your own device with your password (and your 2FA code, once enabled).
Can I force logout on someone else's Facebook account?
No. This action only works on the account you are currently signed in to — it ends sessions only on your own account and can't reach or control an account you don't own. If you're a parent or guardian looking to oversee a child's account with consent, that's a different, monitoring-focused process — see our parental and family Facebook safety guides rather than this decisive-logout page.
Someone might still be in my account — is logging out enough?
Ending sessions removes their current access, but if they know your password they could sign back in. Treat logout as step one, then change your password and turn on 2FA. Facebook's Security Checkup walks you through the rest.
I logged out everywhere but still see a strange login later — what now?
That usually means the password is still known to someone. Change it again, confirm 2FA is on, and review your login alerts and recent devices. No tool can guarantee it reveals who the person was.
